Durham Sustain Ability Wants You to Take the We Have the Power Pledge!
Durham Region, the power for change is in your hands! Durham Sustain Ability (DSA) wants you to take action and make a stand for the environment today and take the We Have the Power Pledge, simply visit www.wehavethepower.ca. Pledge to reduce and conserve in four areas; energy, transportation, waste and water for your chance to win great prizes!
The answer to our climate crisis is conservation of our precious resources, and it starts with you. Together we can all take simple steps that will lead to a bright future for Durham Region and beyond.
Our goals are:
- Collect 1,500 pledges by March 2010, and we need your help.
- Engage with residents who want to take the first steps in leading a carbon neutral and sustainable lifestyle.
- Reduce Green House Gas emissions across the Durham Region.
- Promote behavioural change that leads to a region wide culture of conservation.
“We want the Durham Region community to unite and make a stand for the environment,” says Shawna Mutton, Executive Director, DSA. “It’s time to turn climate change around and we all can do our part to ensure this happens. If we all take these small steps to reduce and conserve they add up considerably. We are promoting change for a brighter future that will not only benefit the community but our future generations.”
Durham Sustain Ability will be running the program online at www.wehavethepower.ca until March 2010 and will be promoting the program at local community events throughout the winter. For full details including prizes and updates visit www.wehavethepower.ca.
