Durham College can work with small to medium sized business (SMEs) from one to 1,000 employees, and new for 2012, certain types of non-profit organizations, so long as the projects can demonstrate positive economic impact or quality of life improvements.

Depending upon eligibility and the specific funding programs, Durham College can match 1:1 the project contributions to a maximum of $100,000 :  $100,000, double the maximum of 2011, but it is expected that most projects will be in the $10,000 - $50,000 range.  The business / organization contribution can be a cash investment or an in-kind, such as the time of their own staff.  And the business / organization may keep their rights to the Intellectual Property developed during the projects.

This program is clearly a triple win; a win for the business / organization, a win for Durham College, and a win for Ontario.
