2005 - Durham Sustain Ability
In 2005, Durham Conservation Centre took on a new name, Durham Sustain Ability, to more accurately reflect our role facilitating community based sustainable actions.
Durham Sustain Ability (DSA) is a non-profit organization based in Durham that links local sustainable actions to larger global issues. Our staff and volunteers focus on practical, positive solutions. Building on its success with the blue box Durham Sustain Ability uses conservation education to increase the number of residents involved in environmental practices in their homes, workplaces, and communities.
Our programs are based on four pillars: EcoMunicipalities, EcoBusiness, EcoSchools, and EcoHomes. Each program is designed to promote and encourage environmental responsibility and action. DSA’s definition of “environment” is broad, encompassing everything around us – clear air, pure water, a caring community, and social networks.
