DURHAM SUSTAIN ABILITY'S PATH

Do you have an unwanted bicycle that needs a good home?

Do you have an unwanted bicycle that needs a good home?  You can donate your bike to Africycle to get it out of your garage, keep it out of our landfills, and provide quality, sustainable transportation to the people of Malawi, Africa.

In coordination with Earth Week, our main bicycle drop off day is Saturday April 21st, 2012, from 8am to 12noon at 6 locations across Durham Region.  We also have 2 Pickering locations accepting bike donations on weekdays a couple days before and the week after the 21st, if Saturday doesn’t work for you.

Here’s a link to a map showing all drop off locations - please note specific dates and times for each location.  To store this info on your smart phone for reference later, just text the word “BIKE” to 12345.

We are planning to hit an exciting milestone this year…the 1,000th bike donated to Africycle from Southern Durham region!   The donor of the 1000th bike will receive a Cycling Jersey (retail value $80.00).  To qualify you will need to fill out a Donation Form when you drop off your bicycle and you will be contacted within a couple weeks of the event by phone or email address (or both) to claim your prize.

Don’t have a bike to give?  Perhaps you’re not in the Durham area?  You can still help in another critical way.  It costs almost $50 to ship a bike to Africa – donate here and you will receive a tax receipt for donations of $20 or more.  Your generosity is greatly appreciated.
